Air India bans man for 30 days after he urinated on others in cabin

Civil Aviation Resources Network, April 10, 2025: According to foreign media reports, on April 9, local time, an incident occurred on an Air India flight AI2336 from New Delhi to Bangkok, where a passenger urinated on another passenger in public during the flight.
According to an internal report submitted by Air India to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the incident occurred in the business class. Tushar Masand, a passenger sitting in seat 2D, urinated on Hiroshi Yoshizane, a passenger sitting in seat 1D.

After the incident, Mr. Jishibo immediately reported it to the crew. The flight attendant quickly provided him with a towel and assisted him in cleaning up, while taking Masand away from the area. Jishibo was then escorted to the bathroom to change clothes, and the crew informed the captain of the situation.
Air India confirmed that on April 9, 2025, during the flight AI2336 from Delhi to Bangkok, the crew received a passenger report that an incident of inappropriate passenger behavior had occurred on board. In a statement, Air India said: "The crew strictly followed the established procedures to handle the incident and reported it to the relevant authorities in a timely manner. In addition to warning the passenger involved, our crew also took the initiative to assist the victim to file a complaint with the local authorities in Bangkok, but the passenger declined the suggestion at the time."
The Air India spokesperson further added: "We will convene a permanent independent committee to evaluate the incident and decide what punishment to take against the offending passenger. Air India always follows the standard operating procedures formulated by the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for such incidents and is committed to maintaining order on board and the safety and dignity of all passengers."
It is reported that Air India has imposed a temporary travel ban on Masand for 30 days.
