Australia's largest regional airline cuts flights, says rivals are snatching its pilots

Rex said it had to cut flights and cut regional routes between Sydney and some towns in New South Wales.
The affected routes require SAAB-340 aircraft pilots, and the company has been involved in a labor dispute with these pilots after the 2022 salary proposal was rejected.
Rex said that if the situation improves, the affected routes will resume at the end of March 2024.
Data shows that Rex’s market share in April was 4.8%, far lower than Qantas’ 60.8% and Virgin Australia’s 33.2%.
