On December 7, 2025, Civil Aviation Resource Network reported that at 16:55 Beijing time, Hainan Airlines flight HU497, operated by the new HNA Aviation Group, successfully took off from Qionghai Bo'ao International Airport, marking the official opening of the Hainan Airlines Qionghai-Kuala Lumpur international route. The opening of this route will further enhance friendly exchanges between China and Malaysia, create more opportunities for economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges, and promote cooperation between the two sides in multiple fields.
The Hainan Airlines Qionghai-Kuala Lumpur international route plans to operate two round-trip flights per week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. The outbound flight is scheduled to depart from Qionghai Bo'ao International Airport at 16:40 Beijing time and arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 20:10 local time, with a flight time of approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. The return flight is scheduled to depart from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 12:15 local time and arrive at Qionghai Bo'ao International Airport at 15:25 Beijing time, with a flight time of approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes.
