Civil Aviation Resource Network, March 6, 2026: China Eastern Airlines will officially resume its direct flight route between Shanghai Pudong and Stockholm starting June 22, 2026. This resumption marks the first since the route was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, significantly enhancing China Eastern's route network coverage in Northern Europe and providing a more convenient air corridor for trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between China and Sweden.
The China Eastern Shanghai-Stockholm direct flight will operate three round-trip flights per week, with flight numbers MU289/290, using an Airbus A330 aircraft. Flights will be scheduled every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. Outbound flight MU289 departs from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 15:00 Beijing time and arrives at Stockholm Arlanda Airport at 20:10 local time, with a flight time of 11 hours and 10 minutes; return flight MU290 departs from Stockholm Arlanda Airport at 22:40 local time and returns to Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 14:40 Beijing time the next day, with a flight time of 10 hours (actual times are subject to actual inquiry).

Stockholm, the capital and largest city of Sweden, is the country's political, economic, and cultural center, and a core hub of the Nordic region. Spanning 14 islands and a peninsula, Stockholm is crisscrossed by waterways and connected by over 70 bridges, earning it the nickname "Venice of the North." Here, you can stroll through the medieval streets of the Old Town (Gamla Stan) and visit the Royal Palace, or experience the atmosphere of the Nobel Prize ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall and City Hall.
Tickets for this route are now fully available for sale. To thank our passengers, China Eastern Airlines is offering two special purchase benefits: From March 9, 2026 to April 9, 2026, passengers who purchase tickets for this route between June 22 and June 27, 2026 through the China Eastern Airlines APP can participate in the "Flight Segment Discount Red Packet" promotion. The resumption of the Shanghai-Stockholm route is an important step for China Eastern Airlines in continuously optimizing its European route network and expanding its market in Northern Europe.
