1. Israel to Open Airspace on March 8

According to Ynetnews, Israeli Transportation Minister Miri Regev announced that Israel will open its airspace on March 8, allowing flights to depart. She stated on Thursday that the opening of flight departures "depends on the security situation."

2. Syria Opens Mediterranean-Aleppo Air Corridor, Potentially Helping Alleviate Regional Traffic Congestion

According to Reuters, the head of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority stated on Thursday that Syria has opened a recently reopened air corridor from the northern city of Aleppo to the Mediterranean Sea for use by foreign airlines and the Syrian national airline. Omar Khosari, head of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, stated that this route aims to provide a safe flight path for aircraft traveling to and from Aleppo, and any airline that "meets international safety standards" can use it.

Last week, the FAA proposed limiting daily flights to 2,800, lower than the previously announced 3,080 daily flights for the summer, but higher than last summer's 2,680 daily flights.
