Civil Aviation Resources Network, March 12, 2025: On March 7, the Civil Aviation Administration approved the renaming of Enshi Xujiaping Airport to Enshi Xujiaping International Airport, and its English name was determined to be "ENSHI XUJIAPING INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT". This marks that Enshi Airport has officially entered the ranks of international airports and become the fourth international airport in Hubei Province.
In November 2016, the National Port Office included Enshi Xujiaping Airport in the "13th Five-Year Plan for National Port Development". It was temporarily opened for the first time in June 2019, and was approved by the State Council to open to the outside world in May 2023. It passed the provincial pre-acceptance in May 2024 and the national acceptance in November 2024. At present, charter flights to Hong Kong have been opened.
In recent years, the infrastructure of Enshi Airport has been continuously improved, the operation support capacity has been steadily improved, and the route network has radiated across the country and connected the world, building an important air bridge for the tourism development and economic exchanges of Enshi Prefecture. The renaming and opening of Enshi Xujiaping International Airport is undoubtedly a new starting point in the development process of Enshi Prefecture.
In the next step, under the strong leadership of the prefecture party committee, prefecture government and Hubei Airport Group, Enshi Xujiaping International Airport will accelerate the function of the "air port to the sea", continuously improve the level of opening to the outside world, focus on expanding routes to neighboring countries such as South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, etc., build an international aviation network that reaches Asia, and fully promote Enshi Prefecture to build a world-class tourist destination. At the same time, the airport will continue to improve service quality and operation management level, scientifically optimize flight schedules and route layout, continue to deepen the integration of aviation and tourism, and stride towards the goal of "the world's best tourist airport".
