Civil Aviation Resources Network reported on March 12, 2025: On March 12, Singapore Airlines and Scoot issued an announcement on the social media platform Facebook stating that from April 1, Singapore Airlines and Scoot will prohibit passengers from using power banks during flights, and onboard USB ports must not be used to charge power banks.
According to the regulations, power banks with a capacity of less than 100Wh can be brought on board without approval; power banks with a capacity of 100Wh to 160Wh must be approved by the airline; power banks with a capacity of more than 160Wh are strictly prohibited. In addition, all flights require power banks to be carried with you and are strictly prohibited from being placed in checked baggage.
Singapore Airlines Group emphasized that this policy is in line with the International Air Transport Association (IATA)'s safety regulations on the transportation of lithium battery items.
Previously, many airlines have issued new regulations, strictly prohibiting passengers from using power banks during flights and requiring passengers to carry them with them.
