On June 26 local time, Lufthansa denied a report by the German magazine *Der Spiegel* that Lufthansa would ground 40 aircraft.
The report claimed that Lufthansa planned to ground up to 40 aircraft due to fuel shortages. The magazine subsequently retracted the report.
A Lufthansa spokesperson stated that Lufthansa categorically denies the report, adding that it appears to be based on an old internal recording.
*Der Spiegel* issued a correction, retracting the report because the information it relied on was outdated.
In March of this year, *Der Spiegel* reported that Lufthansa was considering grounding up to 40 aircraft due to escalating conflict in the Middle East.
