The incident is reportedly likely to have occurred around August 13th. EVA Air operates a daily flight departing from Taoyuan International Airport in the evening, bound for New York's JFK Airport, and is expected to arrive in the evening local time. The aircraft is a Boeing 777-300ER, capable of carrying up to 341 passengers.

Media reporters contacted EVA Air regarding this matter, and the company responded that they would provide further information upon further investigation. Reporters also contacted Taiwan's Civil Aviation Administration, where the officer on duty stated that the flight failed to taxi as instructed after landing. Upon notification, the authorities suspended the crew and launched an investigation.

A source familiar with the matter noted that no aircraft were taking off or landing on the runway at the time of the incident, averting further serious consequences. It remains to be determined whether there was a problem with the JFK Airport control tower's instructions or whether the crew misunderstood them.

It is understood that the incident may be related to the "Hold Short Runway 22 at Golf" (which means waiting for clearance before taxiway G). If a serious "runway incursion" incident involves entering the runway without permission, subsequent disciplinary action may include flight reductions, suspensions, or fines. Typically, after landing, a flight must follow tower instructions and wait for air traffic control clearance on the taxiway before continuing to the designated parking stand to complete passenger and baggage disembarkation.

The case is currently under internal investigation by JFK Airport, EVA Air, and Taiwan's civil aviation authorities. The final determination of responsibility remains pending in the investigation report.
