On August 22, Shenzhen Airport issued a travel advisory stating that to further improve the airport's runway operation system and enhance overall operational efficiency and safety, Shenzhen Airport will soon implement taxiway construction work between runways 16L/34R (hereinafter referred to as "Runway 2") and 16R/34L (hereinafter referred to as "Runway 3"), and upgrade the safety operation quality of Runway 2. To ensure operational safety during construction, Runway 2 will be temporarily closed from August 25 to October 24, 2026.

During this period, Shenzhen Airport will operate with only two runways, reducing flight capacity and efficiency to some extent. Flight schedules and the density of certain routes may be adjusted during certain periods, and the ground taxiing time for some inbound flights may increase. Shenzhen Airport will work with air traffic control and airlines to optimize flight schedules, gate arrangements, and ground taxiing routes to ensure safe and smooth travel for passengers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

This taxiway construction is an important component of the second phase of the Shenzhen Airport Runway 3 construction project. Upon completion of construction, the taxiway connecting Shenzhen Airport's third and second runways will be fully operational, further optimizing aircraft taxiing routes. This is expected to improve the airport's overall operational efficiency and safety capabilities, laying the foundation for future expansion of flight capacity and better meeting the needs of regional economic and social development and more efficient and convenient travel for passengers.

Shenzhen Airport reminds passengers traveling during this period to pay attention to airline flight schedule adjustments and the latest flight information, and to plan their travel accordingly. Thank you again for your understanding and support of Shenzhen Airport's work!
