This will contribute civil aviation strength to Yichang's efforts to further enhance its open platform capabilities and strengthen its open hub functions.

Currently, the China-Russia visa-free policy continues to generate positive effects. Both China and Russia implement a policy allowing citizens of the other country holding ordinary passports to stay for up to 30 days without a visa, covering various reasons such as tourism, business, and exchange, greatly facilitating cross-border travel for people from both countries. Against the backdrop of the continued positive effects of the China-Russia visa-free policy, the opening of the Yichang-Vladivostok direct flight route timely meets the rapidly growing demand for cross-border tourism and business exchanges between the people of both countries.
On the day of the inaugural flight ceremony, 91 foreign passengers from Vladivostok completed border inspection and customs entry procedures at the Three Gorges Airport and will begin a 4-day trip in Yichang. The itinerary includes visiting the "Two Dams and One Gorge," the Three Gorges Cave, Chexi, and experiencing a "Night Cruise on the Yangtze River," marking the first direct flight from Russia to Yichang for a tour group. According to statistics from the Three Gorges Airport Border Inspection Station, since 2026, the Three Gorges Airport has handled 123 international (regional) flights and 16,019 inbound and outbound passengers, of which foreign passengers accounted for a significant portion.

To ensure the smooth inaugural flight of this new route, the Three Gorges Airport planned ahead and made meticulous arrangements. A route support preparation meeting was held, focusing on key aspects such as flight takeoff and landing connections, passenger clearance procedures, and baggage transfer. Pre-flight route inspections and reviews were successfully completed. Systematic training was provided to frontline service and technical support staff, emphasizing international flight support procedures, English communication skills, and emergency response protocols. Simultaneously, the Three Gorges Airport Customs and Border Inspection Station, adhering to the principle of "one plan per flight," prepared contingency plans in advance. Specialized training was provided to frontline officers, taking into account the characteristics of Russian passports and visas. Dedicated personnel were assigned to guide and assist airlines with crucial preliminary steps such as route registration. Leveraging smart passenger inspection technology, passengers were provided with a safer and more convenient "zero-delay" clearance experience.
It is understood that this route is an international tourist charter flight. Passengers can purchase tickets and inquire about travel itineraries through Tianzhilan International Travel Agency. The ticketing hotline is 13102538567.
