Civil Aviation Resources Network, July 25, 2025: According to Pakistani media reports, Hanif Gohar, chairman of Pakistan's startup airline Air Karachi, recently said that he is considering introducing Chinese-made C919 passenger aircraft to Pakistan through leasing companies, and domestic passengers will be able to enjoy great discounts.
Gohar pointed out that the price of Chinese aircraft is only half of that of Airbus and Boeing aircraft. Due to the lower price, the leasing price will also be lower, which will benefit passengers. The aircraft will be flown by Chinese pilots in the initial stage.
Gohar also said: "We are working hard to introduce simulators and spare engines of Chinese aircraft into Pakistan."
As an emerging airline headquartered in Karachi, Air Karachi obtained a scheduled public transport license (RPT) from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority in early June this year. It plans to expand its fleet size to seven aircraft and start operating international flights within a year.
