Civil Aviation Resources Network, February 14, 2025: According to Simpleflying, on February 12, local time, a United Airlines flight from Chicago O'Hare International Airport to Los Cabos International Airport in Mexico returned urgently due to problems with the windshield, and no one was injured.
It is reported that the flight involved is UA1879, which flies from Chicago O'Hare International Airport to Los Cabos International Airport in Mexico, operated by a 737-800 (registration number N17244).
CBS quoted a United Airlines statement as saying: "We thank the crew for taking quick action to ensure the safety of passengers and employees. We have arranged an alternative flight to take passengers to their destination."
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported: "United Airlines Flight 1879 returned safely to Chicago O'Hare International Airport at around 10:20 am local time on February 12, after the pilot reported a possible fire in the cabin. The FAA will investigate this."
