Civil Aviation Resources Network, February 17, 2025: According to Simpleflying, United Airlines recently launched the slogan "YOLO (You Only Live Once), Fly SOLO" to encourage single travelers to explore the world. United Airlines said it hopes this move will help more single travelers embark on their journeys with confidence.

Last Wednesday, United Airlines announced that it would share travel tips, popular destination recommendations, and corresponding app features around its ultimate travel slogan "YOLO, Fly SOLO". Data shows that last year, the number of single travelers on United Airlines hit a record high, and Google searches for "single travel" have surged 223% in the past decade.
According to United Airlines, the most popular destinations for single travelers include Brazil, South Korea, China, India and Nigeria. United Airlines' app also provides navigation guidance, on-demand customer service agents, and seat preference settings, designed to help single travelers complete their journeys confidently and worry-free.
Travel data shared by United Airlines shows:
• Peak solo travel occurs from January to May and from September to November;
• Generation Z travelers are most likely to choose to travel alone (77%), followed by Millennials (65%) and Baby Boomers (57%);
• Not surprisingly, solo travelers are more willing to explore unfamiliar or far-away places.
David Kinzelman, United Airlines' chief customer officer, said the airline knows that passengers want to make wonderful memories around the world, and United's goal is to make it easy for them to do so, whether traveling with a partner or alone. He added: "The self-service features in our app allow you to explore new cities with confidence, and no matter where you are in the world, United is always by your side." United Airlines said this move provides convenience and confidence for solo travelers.
