According to CNN, a Frontier Airlines A321 passenger plane narrowly avoided colliding with two trucks while taxiing at Los Angeles International Airport on April 8th, local time.
The incident occurred at 11:25 PM local time. Frontier Airlines Flight 3216 was taxiing, scheduled to fly to Atlanta Airport.
Frontier Airlines pilots reported to ground control that two trucks had suddenly entered the aircraft's taxiway, forcing the pilots to apply emergency brakes to avoid a collision.
The pilots stated that the incident happened so quickly that both pilots were startled and immediately applied the brakes. The pilots contacted the cabin crew to confirm the safety of the passengers.
No injuries were reported, and the aircraft continued its scheduled flight to Atlanta.
It is understood that the incident occurred on a taxiway in an "air traffic controller blind spot," where buildings obstructed the view of the aircraft.
Frontier Airlines stated, "We are aware of the incident. No passengers or crew members were injured. We appreciate the vigilance and professionalism of the crew."
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident.
