According to the Civil Aviation Resources Network on September 14, 2020: It is reported that Asiana Airlines will resume the Incheon-Chengdu route from September 10. This is the first time that Asiana Airlines has resumed the route after the suspension of flights due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Asiana Airlines currently operates Incheon-Changchun and Incheon-Nanjing flights. The restarted Incheon-Chengdu flight will operate once every Thursday, departing from Incheon at 22:05 local time and returning from Chengdu at 2:15 the next morning. As a result, Asiana Airlines' Chinese routes have increased from the current 2 (Incheon-Changchun, Incheon-Nanjing) to 3.
In addition, Asiana Airlines was the first to receive the "acceptance letter" from the Chinese local government in July, becoming the first Korean airline to resume China-South Korea routes. On September 3, it signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Korea Trade Association, and will operate a charter flight between Incheon and Chongqing every week as of the 25th of this month to support bilateral trade and necessary personnel exchanges.
A relevant staff of Asiana Airlines said: "We hope that through this increase in flights between China and South Korea, we can further meet the travel needs of passengers, help companies resume work and production, and promote economic recovery. At the same time, we will continue to actively coordinate routes and flights, and strive to resume more flights between China and South Korea as soon as possible."
