On April 11, 2026, a man fell from a plane at Manchester Airport and was seriously injured. Emergency responders rushed to the scene to provide assistance.

The man, believed to be an aircraft engineer, was performing maintenance work when he fell from the rear cabin door of the aircraft, sustaining multiple fractures in his limbs and serious injuries. The accident occurred around 8:00 AM, and he remains in hospital receiving treatment.

According to the Manchester Evening News, photos from the scene show multiple ambulances and fire trucks gathered around a Jet2 aircraft after the accident. The airline has confirmed it will conduct a "full" investigation into the incident.

Witnesses stated that emergency responders set up medical screens around the injured man. It is understood that the man was working for Jet2 as a contractor at the time of the incident; his name has not yet been released.

Manchester Airport confirmed that the Northwest Ambulance Service was on the scene. The flight was reportedly en route to Tenerife at the time of the incident.

A Jet2 representative stated: "We are aware of the incident involving third-party supplier personnel that occurred this morning (Saturday, April 11) at Manchester Airport. We cannot confirm further details at this time, but we can confirm that a full investigation has been launched. We will do our utmost to provide support to all those who need assistance."
