On January 15th local time, an ATR42 passenger plane belonging to Hevilift Aviation, a Papua New Guinea airline, overran the runway while landing at Shinberg Airport.
The charter flight was en route from Port Moresby to Shinberg Airport. The plane overran the runway upon landing at Shinberg Airport, but all passengers and crew disembarked safely without injury.
Hevilift Aviation stated that the plane overran the runway while landing on a wet runway. The aircraft was on a charter flight carrying 11 passengers and 3 crew members. The aircraft sustained some damage.
