Emirates has confirmed that flight EK9788, which was damaged while landing in Hong Kong, China on October 20, 2025, was a freighter wet-leased from and operated by Act Airlines. The aircraft, a Boeing 747-400 freighter with registration number TC-ACF, was safe and was not carrying any cargo.

The four crew members on board were uninjured and have been taken to hospital for examination. A ground handling vehicle crashed into the sea. The cause of the crash is unknown. A 30-year-old crew member on board was confirmed dead at the scene, and another in his 40s was taken to Tai Yi Shan Hospital for emergency treatment but later died. The case is still under investigation."
