On September 6, China Eastern Airlines Group Co., Ltd. and China Telecom Group Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Beijing. The two sides will achieve complementary advantages and win-win cooperation, strive to create a model of cooperation between central enterprises, further consolidate and deepen the cooperative relationship between the two sides, carry out pragmatic cooperation in a larger scope, more fields and at a deeper level, and work together to accelerate the construction of world-class enterprises and promote high-quality development of both sides.
Wang Zhiqing, Chairman and Party Secretary of China Eastern Airlines, and Ke Ruiwen, Chairman and Party Secretary of China Telecom, attended the signing ceremony. Cheng Guowei, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager of China Eastern Airlines, and Li Jun, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager of China Telecom, signed on behalf of both parties.
China Eastern Airlines and China Telecom have maintained a close strategic cooperative relationship for a long time, and have worked together, tried first and explored together in the fields of informatization construction and digital transformation. In particular, the operation and development of the air-ground interconnection company jointly established by the two parties has been on the right track and has achieved good practical results.
At the end of 2020, China Eastern Airlines, China Telecom and JuneYao Group jointly established Air-Ground Interconnection Network Technology Co., Ltd., as the world's first professional company engaged in air-ground interconnection services through equity cooperation between airlines and telecom operators, to carry out market-oriented operations.
According to the agreement, the two parties will carry out comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in 5G+ smart aviation, aviation ecosystem, customer diversion, capital and equity investment, and deepen cooperation in basic communication services, cloud-network integration services, travel services, air-ground interconnection services, etc.
