China Eastern Airlines will launch a new Xi'an-Vienna route starting April 20th; tickets are now officially on sale.

On January 29, 2026, Civil Aviation Resource Network reported that starting April 20, China Eastern Airlines will officially launch a new direct international route between Xi'an and Vienna, bringing the total number of European routes operated by China Eastern to 27. This new route not only establishes an air bridge between Northwest China and Austria for the first time, but also closely connects the eastern starting point of the ancient Silk Road with the world-renowned European "music capital," injecting new vitality into economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchange, and tourism between the two regions.

China Eastern Airlines operates the Xi'an-Vienna route using an A330 aircraft, with round-trip flight numbers MU5063/4, operating every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. The outbound flight departs from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport at 01:30 Beijing time and arrives at Vienna International Airport at 06:10 local time; the return flight departs from Vienna at 13:30 local time and returns to Xi'an at 05:50 Beijing time the following day.

Tickets for China Eastern Airlines' Xi'an-Vienna route are now fully available for purchase. To celebrate the launch of this new route, China Eastern is offering several travel benefits.
