Ethiopian Airlines to start producing aircraft parts
According to Reuters, the Ethiopian Government Investment Commission announced that Ethiopian Airlines, Ethiopian Industrial Park Development Group and Boeing signed an agreement to establish a joint venture to manufacture aircraft parts. The initial investment of the project is 15 million US dollars.
The joint venture will produce aircraft insulation blankets, wiring harnesses and other components.
The project will also create more than 300 job opportunities for Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian Government Investment Commission did not say when production would start.
African airlines such as Kenya Airways have pointed out that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has led to a shortage of aircraft parts, which in turn has caused flight disruptions.
