At 18:29 local time on May 17, 2024, flight CA865 landed at the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana, Cuba, marking the official resumption of air routes from China to Cuba. At Havana Airport, the crew who resumed flights were warmly welcomed by the Cuban people and cut the ribbon at the aircraft bridge to celebrate the complete success of the resumption of flights.

On May 17, at Beijing Capital International Airport, passengers on the first flight of CA865 were queuing up to board the plane.
Before the first resumption flight took off, Air China held a resumption ceremony at Beijing Capital Airport. The Tourism Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in China and Air China staff jointly presented gifts to the first passengers; during the boarding process, Air China welcomed the passengers on this flight. Passengers presented the Air China mascot "Fat Anda" as a gift. As the transit point for this flight, the Air China Madrid Sales Department provided thoughtful guidance services to passengers who were transiting, and made local flight recommendations in advance, providing passengers with diversified travel products.

On May 17, local time, staff from the Cuban Embassy in Spain, Air China and airport staff took a photo with the CA865 crew at Madrid Barajas International Airport to congratulate the success of the first flight.
This is the only route between China and Cuba, stopping in Madrid on the way, with a journey of about 17,000 kilometers and a total journey of about 24 hours. This flight operates twice a week: from May 17 to June 13, it is every Tuesday and Friday for the outbound trip, and every Wednesday and Saturday for the return trip; starting from June 17, the outbound and return trip will be every Tuesday and Saturday. In terms of time difference, Madrid is in the eastern zone of the world time zone and is currently implementing daylight saving time and is 6 hours behind Beijing. Havana is located in the western zone of the world time zone and is currently implementing daylight saving time and is 12 hours behind Beijing. This route is operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft, and the rich film and television content in the in-flight entertainment facilities allows passengers to enjoy a comfortable experience during long-distance flights.
