Key highlights of the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) regular global air passenger demand data for November 2025 are as follows:
Total demand (measured in revenue passenger kilometers) increased by 5.7% year-over-year compared to November 2024. Total capacity (measured in available seat kilometers) increased by 5.4% year-over-year, with a load factor of 83.7% in November, a 0.3 percentage point increase year-over-year, marking a new record high for November.
International demand increased by 7.7% year-over-year compared to November 2024. Capacity increased by 7.1% year-over-year, with a load factor of 84.0%, a 0.4 percentage point increase year-over-year.
Domestic demand increased by 2.7% year-over-year compared to November 2024. Capacity increased by 2.7% year-over-year. The load factor was 83.2%, unchanged from the same period last year.
IATA Director General Willie Walsh stated, "Global air travel demand remained strong in November 2025, growing by 5.7% year-on-year. Load factor reached a record high of 83.7% that month. Despite continued pressure on supply chains and limited capacity, airlines actively responded to the growing passenger demand. Entering the new year, the manufacturing sector must prioritize increasing production capacity to meet the actual needs of airline customers. The backlog of over 17,000 aircraft orders accumulated in 2025 urgently needs to be effectively alleviated in 2026."
