In 2025, Shenzhen Airport achieved new records in all three major indicators since its opening, with a total passenger throughput of 66.48 million, cargo and mail throughput of 2.05 million tons, and 448,000 takeoffs and landings.
Furthermore, Shenzhen Airport saw a peak monthly passenger volume exceeding 6 million, the number of international and regional passenger destinations exceeding 60, and inbound and outbound cargo and mail volume exceeding 1 million tons-these impressive figures.
Passenger traffic steadily climbed, with all indicators surpassing 2019 levels.
The record-breaking passenger flow and increasingly dense route network not only demonstrate the leap in Shenzhen Airport's international aviation hub status but also powerfully testify to the city's vitality and economic resilience. Over the past year, Shenzhen Airport has continuously expanded its domestic and international passenger route network, deeply explored source markets, and comprehensively enhanced the radiation and influence of its location as a comprehensive international aviation hub.
Domestic routes: Shenzhen Airport added 12 domestic destinations, including Zhanjiang and Lishui, with domestic passenger volume exceeding 60.1 million, continuing to rank second in the country.
As a vital artery of domestic passenger transport, Shenzhen Airport's "Shenzhen-Express Line" underwent an upgrade in 2025, coordinating with airlines to increase flight frequencies on eight key routes, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Chongqing. The "Shenzhen-Shanghai Express Line" cross-airline transfer service was officially launched, making it the third domestic air express line to offer this service. Simultaneously, the domestically produced C919 large passenger aircraft joined the "Shenzhen-Express Line" flight team for the first time.
International routes: In 2025, Shenzhen Airport capitalized on the expanding visa-free travel network, driving all international and regional passenger transport indicators to surpass the peak levels of 2019. Passenger traffic exceeded 6.3 million, representing a year-on-year increase of over 20%.
Throughout the year, Shenzhen Airport launched 14 new international passenger routes, including Melbourne, Male, Vientiane, and Yangon, and increased the frequency of 14 international passenger routes, including Mexico City, Singapore, and Dubai. The airport now serves 61 international and regional destinations, with nearly 900 scheduled flights per week, connecting all five continents. Furthermore, Shenzhen Airport has successfully attracted several internationally renowned airlines, including Emirates, Maldives Airlines, and Cambodia Airways, providing a wealth of options for both domestic and international travelers and facilitating economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between Shenzhen and major global cities, innovative cities, and emerging market cities.
While continuously expanding its domestic and international route network and increasing capacity, Shenzhen Airport has also deeply explored diverse passenger markets, implementing multiple measures to revitalize the air travel market. During the year, it conducted route promotions in Xinjiang, Yunnan, Harbin, and Hohhot; opened the Kai Tak City Terminal in Hong Kong; upgraded the Shenzhen-Hong Kong "air + bus" intermodal transport product, enabling free bus travel between two cities with a single ticket; the number of Hong Kong residents flying from Shenzhen reached 1.19 million, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%; launched exclusive ticket discounts for passengers from the west bank of the Pearl River; and created a "Shenzhen + Zhongshan + Jiangmen" themed tourism route, resulting in over 690,000 passengers from Zhongshan and Jiangmen flying from Shenzhen, a year-on-year increase of over 30%.
Cargo business continued to rise, with total cargo volume jumping to the 2 million ton level.
In 2025, facing a complex and volatile external environment, Shenzhen Airport continued to exert efforts in route expansion, customs clearance improvement, service enhancement, and planning support to strengthen its cargo competitiveness. This propelled the annual cargo and mail throughput to exceed 2 million tons for the first time, reaching 2.05 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9%. Among this, international and regional cargo volume exceeded 1 million tons for the first time, reaching 1.06 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10%.
Domestic business: Shenzhen Airport deepened its strategic cooperation with domestic airports, establishing three off-site cargo terminals in Urumqi, Xi'an, and Lanzhou, achieving deep integration in route network, port functions, and industrial resources. Seizing the opportunity of a bumper lychee harvest, it coordinated with SF Express and JD.com to increase cargo aircraft capacity and fully utilized belly cargo capacity, achieving a record high of 25,200 tons of lychee transportation for the year. It also established the "Airport Fresh Fair" agricultural product exhibition hall, conducting 18 group purchases of agricultural products, covering more than 210 products, with a total of 13,000 orders and a cargo volume of 11,000 tons.
International Business: Leveraging its favorable operating environment and development potential, Shenzhen Airport attracted 14 airlines, including Atlas Copco, UPS, and SF Express, to increase their capacity. Three new international cargo routes were launched to Miami, Delhi, and Jakarta, and the frequency of flights to 16 international cargo destinations, including Manila, Sydney, and Abu Dhabi, was increased. The airport now serves 43 international and regional destinations, bringing the total number of cargo destinations to 63, covering 27 countries and regions.
Meanwhile, cross-border e-commerce remains a significant engine for growth in international cargo business, with annual cargo volume exceeding 350,000 tons, representing a year-on-year increase of over 8%. With the support of Shenzhen Customs and other on-site inspection units, Shenzhen Airport has deepened its "Smart Airport Logistics" reform, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as digital twin technology, AGV intelligent robots, and intelligent checkpoints into the entire regulatory process, further improving air cargo clearance efficiency. It has also innovated the international transit "exchange of bill of lading" business model, reducing logistics costs while increasing transportation flexibility. Furthermore, it has expanded cross-border e-commerce transit export channels, extending these channels via Beijing Daxing, Beijing Capital, Chengdu Shuangliu, Chengdu Tianfu, Urumqi, and Harbin airports. By integrating and utilizing domestic and international belly cargo capacity resources from airlines, it has achieved seamless "one-time declaration, two-location customs clearance" for goods, providing a wealth of timely and cost-effective options for "Made in the Greater Bay Area" products to smoothly reach overseas markets, becoming a key factor in the continued growth of cross-border e-commerce cargo volume.

Looking back at 2025, Shenzhen Airport delivered a report card of "booming passenger and cargo traffic." Looking towards the "15th Five-Year Plan," Shenzhen Airport focuses on major project construction, service quality upgrades, and smart empowerment, consolidating the foundation for future development. In 2025, Shenzhen Airport saw several breakthroughs in its major project construction: the three runways were successfully completed and put into operation, and construction officially commenced on Terminal 2, the North Cargo Area, and supporting facilities. This not only created favorable conditions for opening more passenger and cargo routes, increasing flight frequency, and enhancing aviation capacity in the short term, but also laid a solid foundation for the eventual formation of a "3+3+3+1" infrastructure structure comprising three terminals, three cargo areas, three runways, and one satellite terminal. Looking to the future, Shenzhen Airport will be able to meet the needs of 80 million passengers and 4.5 million tons of cargo annually.
To upgrade service quality, Shenzhen Airport, leveraging opportunities such as the 15th National Games, collaborated with base airlines and other airport-based units to launch a special "Service Enhancement" campaign, comprehensively improving airport service levels. A one-stop integrated service center for foreign personnel was launched; special seating and shower facilities were added to the international departure area of the west wing; and AI translators were installed at key service windows. The airport also improved its age-friendly and barrier-free facilities, systematically implementing 17 upgrades including tactile paving and accessible restrooms. Shenzhen Airport became the first airport in China with over 60 million passengers to achieve a domestic flight cut-off time of 38 minutes. Multiple measures improved flight operation efficiency and delay service levels, resulting in a 91.19% on-time departure rate. Stores of international brands such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Hermès opened at Shenzhen Airport, continuously upgrading the terminal's international brand matrix. Shenzhen Airport was awarded the titles of "National Civilized Unit" and "National Respect for the Elderly Civilized Unit," won the SKYTRAX Best Airport for 60-70 million passengers, received the ACI Asia Pacific Best Airport Award for 40 million passengers for five consecutive years, and won the CAPSE "Best Airport" award for nine consecutive years.
Against the backdrop of groundbreaking advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, AI and smart devices have become crucial tools for reshaping the civil aviation service ecosystem. Shenzhen Airport has launched innovative service products such as AI-powered intelligent customer service, AI-assisted boarding, robot catering, robot coffee making, baggage anomaly alerts, and automated parking and valet services. It has also achieved paperless boarding for international flights, innovating a "one gate, two doors, two checks" model, improving clearance efficiency by 25% during peak hours. Leveraging AI technologies such as video recognition, big data analysis, and privately deployed large-scale models, it has constructed a "comprehensive transportation map," enabling real-time analysis and prediction of passenger and vehicle flow, as well as road conditions, thus significantly enhancing the quality of airport ground transportation services.
