Malaysia Airlines to purchase 10 Boeing 787 aircraft.

Malaysia Airlines is nearing a deal with Boeing for 10 Boeing 787-10 aircraft to modernize its long-haul wide-body fleet. The transaction has not yet been officially confirmed, and details regarding the number of aircraft, specific models, and delivery schedules remain subject to change.
Currently, Malaysia Airlines' wide-body fleet consists entirely of Airbus aircraft, comprising 29 A330s and 7 A350-900s. The A350-900s are all leased, and with those agreements nearing expiration, the 787 order is expected to replace the A350 fleet.
Malaysia Airlines has also placed an order for 40 A330-900s, though only 10 have been delivered to date.
The airline has not operated Boeing wide-body aircraft since retiring its Boeing 777-200ERs in 2016.
Reportedly, Malaysia Airlines selected Boeing because the manufacturer could offer earlier delivery slots-starting in 2031-and engine supplier General Electric provided more favorable terms.
