According to Thai media reports, the Thai Prime Minister's Office stated that the Thai government is closely monitoring the Nipah virus outbreak in India and has instructed relevant departments to strengthen monitoring and screening of inbound passengers at border crossings. Currently, no cases of Nipah virus infection have been found in Thailand, and the public is urged to obtain information through official channels and not to panic.

Phuket International Airport has strengthened health monitoring of passengers arriving from India.

Monchai Tanode, Director of Phuket International Airport, stated that airport quarantine staff have briefed him on the Nipah virus outbreak in India, and he is seeking guidance from the disease control department to determine whether additional preventative measures should be implemented at entry checkpoints nationwide.

Phuket Airport currently handles 10,000 to 20,000 inbound passengers daily, with travelers from India being the third largest source.

Monchai stated that health officials are closely monitoring passengers from India, especially those from areas with outbreaks. The airport is coordinating with hospitals in Phuket and neighboring regions to determine if any Indian passengers have sought medical attention due to suspected Nipah virus symptoms.
