On January 25, 2026, Civil Aviation Resource Network reported that, according to Taiwanese media, Starlux Airlines flight JX306 (Taichung to Kobe route) experienced a hard landing upon landing at Kobe Airport in Japan on the 20th. Starlux Airlines and the Civil Aeronautics Administration of Taiwan have simultaneously initiated handling and investigation procedures. The aircraft has been inspected and confirmed to be structurally sound.
Starlux Airlines responded today, stating that the flight encountered a sudden gust of wind upon arrival at Kobe Airport, causing abnormal data display in the aircraft's systems. Based on flight safety considerations, the crew strictly followed standard operating procedures to stop the aircraft for inspection and reported the incident to the Civil Aeronautics Administration of Taiwan. The aircraft has now completed all inspections, and Airbus has confirmed that there are no structural safety hazards.
The Civil Aeronautics Administration of Taiwan stated that, upon verification, the vertical G-force exceeded the standard range during landing. Upon receiving the report, the department immediately followed procedures, requiring the airline to retain relevant data from the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and digital flight data recorder (DFDR). Simultaneously, alcohol tests were conducted on the crew, and the entire crew was grounded to fully cooperate with the subsequent investigation. The flight in question has now completed maintenance, and Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration is continuing its in-depth investigation into the cause of the incident.
