Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport's passenger throughput this year has already surpassed the total for last year, with international passengers increasing by 19.01% year-on-year.

Since the beginning of this year, Baiyun Airport has handled a total of 76.52 million passengers, exceeding the total passenger throughput for 2024. Among them, thanks to the continued support of the 240-hour visa-free transit policy, international passengers reached 15.84 million, a year-on-year increase of 19.01%, accounting for 20.70% of total passengers.

Baiyun Airport is one of the three nationally designated comprehensive gateway international aviation hubs. On October 30th, with the official operation of Terminal 3 and the fifth runway, Baiyun Airport entered the era of "five runways + three terminals," effectively promoting the upgrade of the Greater Bay Area route network from "broad coverage" to "high density and high quality," achieving a "double harvest" in passenger traffic and routes. Now, Terminal 3 has been operating smoothly for a month, handling an average of 158 flights daily. It has not only achieved passenger growth but has also gained popularity as a landmark and upgraded its air-rail intermodal transport, injecting new vitality into the "air gateway" of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and delivering an impressive "one-month report card."

The Baiyun Airport T3 Transportation Center complements the existing T2 Terminal Integrated Transportation Center, forming a comprehensive transportation system that connects the three terminals internally with two highways, two subway lines, five intercity rail lines, and six high-speed rail lines externally. This deep integration of air, rail, and road transport creates a "30/60/180" time-space circle-30 minutes to Guangzhou's central urban area, 60 minutes to major cities in the Greater Bay Area, and 180 minutes to surrounding provincial capitals. Through these high-speed corridors, airports in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Zhuhai can be connected by rail, accelerating the formation of an "airport cluster on rails."

Data shows that Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport handled 7.32 million passengers in November, a year-on-year increase of over 12.56%, achieving a smooth transition and efficient operation.

Since the beginning of this year, Baiyun Airport has opened, resumed, and increased the frequency of more than 30 international passenger routes. Relying on its hub structure of "five runways + three terminals," Baiyun Airport has achieved a leapfrog improvement in international route density and intercontinental direct connectivity.

In the first 11 months, Shenzhen Airport handled over 5.7 million international and regional passengers, a year-on-year increase of 23%.

On December 6th, Shenzhen Airport's 60th international passenger route-a direct flight from Shenzhen to Tawau, Malaysia-successfully launched, restoring the number of international and regional passenger routes to the historical peak level of 2019.

This year, Shenzhen Airport has opened and increased the frequency of 27 international and regional routes, including destinations such as Mexico City, Male, Tokyo, and Dubai, with a route network connecting 60 cities across five continents. The newly opened Tawau route, operated by Zhejiang Loong Airlines using Airbus A320 aircraft, carried 155 passengers on its inaugural flight, achieving a load factor of 90.6%. Tawau, as an important gateway to Sabah, Malaysia, provides convenient access to resort areas such as Semporna. Direct flights from Shenzhen to Melbourne, Australia, will also be launched this month.

From January to November this year, Shenzhen Airport handled over 5.7 million international and regional passengers, a year-on-year increase of 23%. The airport upgraded its international service area, adding facilities such as charging seats, office counters, and shower rooms, and opened a comprehensive service center for overseas guests, equipped with one-stop services such as AI translation machines. Since the third runway went into operation at the end of November, as of December 6, it has handled over 200 flights, alleviating operational pressure; further capacity will be released in the future to improve capacity and efficiency. The improved international routes reflect the enhanced hub capacity of Shenzhen Airport and the city's vitality. Shenzhen Airport will continue to upgrade its facilities and expand its network to support regional development.

Year-on-year growth of 25.5%! Qingdao Airport's International and Regional Passenger Volume Exceeds 3 Million

As of November 2025, the airport's international and regional passenger volume reached 3.036 million, a year-on-year increase of 25.5%, marking the first time it has surpassed the 3 million mark since the pandemic. This achievement signifies the continued strengthening of the regional international aviation hub's agglomeration and radiation capabilities, and further release of market vitality.

Since the start of the 2025 winter flight season, Qingdao Airport has planned 435 weekly international and regional flights, a 5.1% increase compared to the 2024 winter flight season. As of the end of November, it has cumulatively opened and operated 26 international and regional destinations, including Seoul, Busan, Cheongju, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Phnom Penh, Dubai, Moscow, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taipei, and Macau. Its transit network covers major popular destinations worldwide, gradually building a wide-reaching and efficient air corridor.

The regional markets are performing actively, with routes to South Korea being particularly outstanding. As of November 7th, China's visa-free policy for South Korea had been in effect for a year. During this period, Qingdao Airport handled a total of 1.806 million South Korean passengers, a year-on-year increase of 23.6%. Of these, 360,000 were South Korean nationals, accounting for approximately 71% of all foreign passengers, a year-on-year increase of 63.3%. Passenger volume on routes to and from Seoul remained among the highest in China, fully realizing the policy benefits and market potential. To consolidate its market advantage, Qingdao Airport, in conjunction with Qingdao Airlines, plans to launch the only new route from Shandong Province to Daegu, South Korea, on December 21st.

The Southeast Asian market also remained highly active, with a load factor of 84.7% in the past two months. The route network continued to expand, with recent additions of passenger and cargo routes to Phnom Penh and Bangkok. Furthermore, Qingdao Airport plans to launch direct flights from Qingdao to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City starting in January 2026, and further increase the frequency of flights to Kuala Lumpur, providing passengers with richer and more convenient travel options to explore Southeast Asian culture.

Travel between Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states is also becoming increasingly frequent. According to statistics, as of November 30, 22,000 mainland Chinese residents traveled to Russia via Qingdao Airport, a year-on-year increase of 78%. On December 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree regarding the temporary entry of Chinese citizens into Russia, which will further promote personnel exchanges between the two countries. As the operator of the only direct passenger route from Shandong Province to Moscow, Qingdao Airport will continue to leverage the route's bridging role to facilitate the deepening of economic, trade, tourism, and cultural cooperation between the two regions.
