April 5, 2026, Civil Aviation Resource Network: According to Italian media reports, due to the tense situation in the Middle East, some Italian airports have begun to restrict fuel supplies.
Air BP Italia, the Italian aviation fuel supplier, issued a NOTAM stating that fuel will be prioritized for medical evacuation flights, state flights, and flights with a flight time exceeding 3 hours. Other flights will be subject to rationing.
Milan Linate Airport, Bologna Airport, Venice Airport, and Treviso Airport are all affected, experiencing a reduction in aviation fuel supply. These restrictions are expected to continue until at least the evening of April 9th.
Bologna and Venice airports are limiting each flight to approximately 2,000 liters of fuel, Treviso to 2,500 liters, while Linate Airport, although also subject to restrictions, has not announced specific quotas.
Based on the latest situation, Venice Airport faces the most severe situation, and pilots have been explicitly advised to fill up their tanks before arrival to avoid the risks associated with insufficient local supplies.
