According to Huaidong Energy Voice, in accordance with the "Administrative Measures for Civil Airport Names" and the "Regulations on the Administration of General Aviation Airports," the Zhundong Development Zone Planning and Construction Bureau convened an expert review meeting on March 17, 2026, regarding the naming of the "Xinjiang Zhundong Wucaiwan General Aviation Airport." After discussion and consultation with the Jimsar County People's Government, a "Comprehensive Evaluation Report on the Naming of Jimsar Wucaiwan Airport" was prepared, proposing to name the Xinjiang Zhundong Wucaiwan General Aviation Airport "Jimsar Wucaiwan Airport." This is now being publicized to the public for comments and suggestions.
This naming strictly adheres to the "Administrative Measures for Civil Airport Names." The primary proper noun "Jimsar" is the administrative division name, and the secondary proper noun "Wucaiwan" is the name of the airport's location. The name is standardized and highlights regional characteristics. After completion, the airport will conduct short-haul transportation, flight training, aerial sightseeing, and emergency rescue services, which will be of significant strategic importance for improving the regional comprehensive transportation network, promoting high-quality local economic and social development, and cultivating new low-altitude economic formats.
