According to Taiwanese media reports, in December 2025, a passenger who was originally scheduled to take Tigerair Taiwan flight IT280 from Kaohsiung to Tokyo Narita mistakenly boarded flight IT284 to Osaka. The Taiwan Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) fined Tigerair NT$150,000 and required Tigerair to implement corrective measures.

In December 2025, a passenger who was originally scheduled to take IT280 from Kaohsiung to Narita mistakenly boarded flight IT284 from Kaohsiung to Osaka for unknown reasons. Tigerair discovered the mistake after checking the ticket stub and promptly removed the passenger from the plane, proactively reporting the incident to the CAA.

The CAA stated that Tigerair's gate staff failed to verify the passenger's identity, leading to the passenger boarding the wrong flight, which violated relevant civil aviation regulations. "Airlines or aircraft operators must verify passengers' boarding documents (such as boarding passes and identification documents) upon boarding to confirm that the identity matches the boarding eligibility," therefore, Tigerair was fined NT$150,000. Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) stated that it has requested Tigerair to review the incident and propose improvement measures. To prevent similar situations from recurring, in addition to random checks of the boarding gate operations for relevant flights by the company, the CAA will also strengthen supervision of the company's improvement efforts through security audits, inspections, and testing.

Tigerair stated that it has always regarded flight safety as its highest, non-negotiable principle. Regarding the two incidents involved, the company proactively discovered them immediately, handled them in accordance with relevant procedures, and proactively reported them to the competent authorities. The company humbly accepts the disciplinary action from the competent authorities and has completed the relevant improvements. It will continue to uphold the highest safety standards to provide passengers with safe and reliable flight services.

In addition, in August 2025, Tigerair flight IT-234 from Taoyuan to Sapporo failed to follow air traffic control instructions during cruise, resulting in altitude deviation.

Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration stated that, after investigation, it was confirmed that Tigerair had failed to comply with the air traffic control permit. The Administration issued a warning and required immediate rectification. Tigerair was also required to strengthen pilots' compliance with air traffic control instructions and enhance crew procedural discipline and crew resource management training to ensure flight safety.
