On November 6, 2025, Civil Aviation Resource Network reported that, according to foreign media reports, at approximately 16:39 local time on November 4, Gulf Air flight GF155 (operated by a Boeing 787-9) en route from Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) to Bahrain (BAH) mistakenly entered runway 06, which was in use at the time, during its pre-takeoff taxiing. Air traffic controllers reacted quickly, immediately instructing an arriving aircraft that was in the short approach phase to perform a go-around, while simultaneously guiding the Gulf Air aircraft to the exit ahead of the runway.

During taxiing, the Gulf Air Boeing 787-9 aircraft aligned with Runway 06 instead of turning to Taxiway C. The control tower ordered the Gulf Air crew to dodge the runway and instructed the next arriving aircraft on the short approach to go around, ultimately averting the conflict and any fundamental security threat.

The arriving aircraft was quickly rescheduled for another approach and landed safely approximately 20 minutes later.

The incident resulted in no injuries, aircraft damage, or aborted takeoffs, and airport operations quickly returned to normal. The Gulf Air flight subsequently departed Manila and landed in Bahrain roughly on time, with minimal impact on overall flight operations.

Regulatory bodies are expected to review the specific circumstances of this runway incursion, but the immediate security threat was mitigated through standard air traffic control defensive maneuvers.
