Xiamen Airlines recently released a procurement announcement for aircraft financing for 2026-2027, inviting suppliers to submit quotations to meet the medium- and long-term financing needs of nine new aircraft from the third quarter of 2026 to the first quarter of 2027.

According to the procurement announcement, Xiamen Airlines plans to introduce six A320s and three Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

In 2025, Xiamen Airlines issued a tender announcement for the lease return and maintenance of two Boeing 787-8 aircraft, registration numbers B-2762 and B-2763 respectively. Both aircraft have now been retired from service.

Xiamen Airlines introduced its first Boeing 787-8 aircraft in 2014, and currently has four Boeing 787-8 aircraft and six Boeing 787-9 aircraft in its fleet.

Compared to the 787-8 model, the Boeing 787-9 model has a longer range and higher fuel efficiency.
