Civil Aviation Resources Network, July 22, 2025: According to the Indian media "Business Today", the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation said in response to the Indian upper house, the Federal Council, that in the past six months, Air India has received nine notices related to safety violations. But the reliability report of the crashed Air India aircraft did not show any "bad trend".

Dr. John Brittas, a member of the Federal Council, asked whether passengers or the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had warned about the safety or airworthiness of the crashed Air India aircraft during the previous six months. If so, he also asked for relevant details.

In response, Murlidhar Mohol, Minister of State for Civil Aviation of India, replied that in the past six months, DGCA has issued a total of nine notices of explanation to Air India for five identified safety violations. One of the violations has completed the enforcement procedure. But Mohol did not disclose more specific details of the violation.

Mohol also said that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) is conducting further investigation into the crash of Air India flight AI171 in Ahmedabad to determine the main cause and contributing factors of the accident.
