On February 28, 2026, Civil Aviation Resource Network reported: China Southern Airlines issued a "Notice on Special Handling of Tickets for Middle East Routes," the full text of which is as follows:
Dear Passengers:
Due to the recent security situation in the Middle East, in order to assist passengers in better arranging their travel plans, we are issuing a special handling notice for China Southern Airlines tickets for flights to and from the Middle East, as detailed below:
I. Applicable Tickets
Tickets purchased or exchanged before 20:00 on February 28, 2026 (inclusive) with a China Southern Airlines ticket starting with 784, and unused for itineraries involving travel dates between February 28, 2026 (inclusive) and March 15, 2026 (inclusive) on China Southern Airlines operated flights or code-share flights using the CZ flight number to or from Dubai, Riyadh, Tehran, or Doha (including stopovers). II. Change and Refund Rules
Passengers who cancel their confirmed seats before flight departure may apply for a change or refund within the ticket validity period according to the following rules:
(I) Ticket Changes: For the first change to a China Southern Airlines operated flight on the same route, no change fee will be charged. If a fare difference occurs, it will be charged according to regulations. Subsequent changes will be processed according to the ticket's terms and conditions.
(II) Refunds: Refunds applied for within the ticket validity period will be free of charge. For tickets that have already been changed according to the above principles, refunds will be processed according to the ticket's terms and conditions.
III. Other Matters: Processed according to the ticket's terms and conditions.
