To further refine the aviation network layout within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and deepen regional coordinated development, China Southern Airlines (CSAir) will launch a new round-trip passenger route between Guangzhou and Macao, effective December 10. Concurrently, the airline will optimize capacity and scheduling for its existing route between Macao and Beijing Daxing. These initiatives are designed to strengthen the GBA's integrated transport system, providing fresh momentum for high-quality development in personnel movement, economic and trade exchanges, and cultural tourism integration across the region.

According to the airline's operational plan, the new Guangzhou–Macao route will operate daily, serviced by Airbus A320 aircraft. The flight schedule is tailored to passenger needs: the outbound flight departs from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 07:20 and arrives at Macao International Airport at 08:25, while the return flight departs from Macao International Airport at 18:40 and lands at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 19:45. Ticket sales for this new route are not yet open; booking services will become available at a later date.

Furthermore, starting December 10, the existing Macao–Beijing Daxing route will undergo upgrades. The combined network will create an integrated "Guangzhou–Macao–Beijing Daxing" route model, enabling coordinated operations across the three locations. Following these adjustments, flights from Macao to Beijing Daxing will be shifted to a morning departure, while return flights from Beijing Daxing to Macao will move to the afternoon. This change fills a gap in morning flight options from Macao to Beijing, significantly expanding travel choices between Guangzhou and Macao, as well as between Macao and Beijing. By better aligning with the travel habits of Macao residents and other passengers, these adjustments offer greater convenience and flexibility.

The launch of this new route leverages the extensive network of China Southern Airlines' Guangzhou international aviation hub, combined with the regional gateway functions of Macao, to establish a robust passenger flow system that facilitates two-way connectivity between Guangzhou and Macao, while linking the region to broader domestic and international destinations. With the launch of this route, travelers from across China and abroad can conveniently transit through Guangzhou to reach Macau, allowing them to explore the unique cultural, tourism, and commercial districts of the Zhuhai-Macau area. Conversely, travelers from Macau and its surrounding regions can leverage this route to connect to China Southern Airlines' (CSN) extensive hub network, gaining seamless access to major domestic cities and key international destinations. This creates a convenient travel experience-characterized by "single-point transit, multi-destination connectivity, and comprehensive regional access"-and fosters a multi-layered aviation service framework: Guangzhou as the hub, Macau as the gateway, and the Zhuhai-Macau area as the core destination. This, in turn, enhances the synergy and operational efficiency of the airport cluster within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA).

In recent years, as the development of the GBA has deepened, regional integration has accelerated. Guangzhou, serving as China Southern Airlines' primary hub, boasts a network that spans major domestic cities and key international destinations, with its reach and influence continuing to grow. Meanwhile, Macau-with its distinct cultural and tourism resources, strategic location, and open, international character-consistently attracts visitors from both home and abroad. The introduction of the Guangzhou-Macau route and the creation of "Guangzhou-Macau-Beijing" connecting itineraries represent a strategic move to align with the high-quality development of the GBA, integrate regional aviation and tourism resources, and optimize the route network across the Bay Area. By establishing an efficient "air-to-air" transit system between Guangzhou and Macau, the initiative stimulates two-way passenger flow, facilitates the movement of people, trade, and cultural exchange, and provides robust aviation support for the expansion and qualitative improvement of the GBA's tourism economy and industrial synergy.

Li Xiaofeng, Station Manager for China Southern Airlines in Macau, stated that the airline will use the launch of this new route and the optimization of flight schedules as an opportunity to further refine flight timings. The airline plans to comprehensively upgrade the end-to-end passenger experience-covering everything from border crossing to transit connections-while strengthening transit support measures to make multi-leg journeys even more convenient. At the same time, we are actively cultivating a new model for the integrated development of "aviation + cultural tourism." By fostering deep synergy and interconnected growth between the aviation resources of the Guangzhou hub and the unique cultural tourism offerings of Zhuhai and Macau, we aim to fully unlock the compounded advantages of the Greater Bay Area's aviation network. In doing so, we are committed to supporting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area into a world-class tourism destination, while continuously empowering regional connectivity and high-quality, coordinated development.
