Embraer's E-Series freighter receives EASA airworthiness approval

Civil Aviation Resources Network, February 12, 2025: Embraer announced that after obtaining the type certificate issued by the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) and the airworthiness approval of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 2024, the E190F E-series freighter has now obtained the airworthiness approval of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The E-series freighter successfully made its maiden flight in Brazil in April 2024 and made its first public appearance at the Farnborough Air Show in July 2024. In May 2022, Embraer announced the official launch of the E-series freighter project, which aims to fill the gap in the air cargo market and gradually replace the less efficient old models. The launch of the E-series freighter conforms to the changing trend of e-commerce and modern trade, and its demand for flexible and fast delivery and decentralized operation, thereby meeting the higher requirements of the feeder market for cargo transportation timeliness.

The Embraer E-Freighter has a range three times that of a large turboprop freighter and can carry more than 40% more cargo volume; compared to narrow-body jet freighters, the E-Freighter has a 30% reduction in operating costs. The E190F has a payload of 13.5 tons.
