On the morning of March 28th, the commissioning ceremony for the MA60 firefighting aircraft and the official opening ceremony of the 2150-meter runway at Hengdian Airport were held at Dongyang Hengdian Airport. This not only significantly enhances the aviation emergency rescue capabilities of Zhejiang and the Yangtze River Delta region, but also opens a new chapter for the high-quality development of Hengdian's "aviation + film and television + tourism + emergency" integration.

The MA60 firefighting aircraft is a core piece of equipment in my country's aviation emergency rescue field and the first large-to-medium-sized fixed-wing emergency rescue aircraft developed in accordance with CCAR-25 airworthiness standards. Its technical strength is at the leading level in China, and currently only two are deployed nationwide, shouldering significant emergency rescue missions.

This aircraft boasts outstanding firefighting performance, with a maximum water capacity of 6 tons. A single water drop can effectively suppress large-area fires; it can accurately drop water within 2 to 4 seconds at a low altitude of 50 to 100 meters from the fire, quickly curbing the spread of the fire. In addition to its core firefighting capabilities, it is also a multi-purpose emergency rescue platform. Equipped with advanced monitoring equipment, it can conduct aerial fire reconnaissance and transmit precise fire data to the ground command center in real time. It integrates a professional communication and command system to break down information barriers between various units at the rescue site, ensuring efficient collaborative operations. It also has personnel and material delivery capabilities, carrying up to 28 rescue personnel or transporting 3.7 tons of emergency supplies, adaptable to various emergency rescue scenarios. Furthermore, this aircraft boasts excellent low-speed maneuverability, with a cruising speed of 230 km/h, enabling stable operation in complex terrains such as forests and valleys, and precise identification and handling of fire points.

As the Zhejiang Provincial Aviation Emergency Rescue Base, with the addition of the MA60 firefighting aircraft, it collaborates with existing helicopters and drones, establishing a multi-layered aviation emergency rescue system of "fixed-wing aircraft + helicopters + drones" in Hengdian. This further improves the integrated air-ground protection network in the Yangtze River Delta, safeguarding the lives and property of the people.

In 1995, the Hengdian Aviation Club was established, and a simple 400-meter runway became the starting point for Hengdian's aviation industry development, carrying Hengdian's aviation dreams and embarking on a journey of exploration from scratch.

In 2018, the Hengdian General Aviation Airport, with an 800-meter runway, opened to traffic, becoming the first town-level general aviation airport in China. Since its opening, the airport has attracted nearly 30 general aviation companies and 60 aircraft, covering multiple fields such as aviation emergency rescue, medical evacuation, short-haul transportation, low-altitude tourism, and flight training. For four consecutive years, its annual flight volume has exceeded 10,000 flights, making it a benchmark for regional general aviation development.

The recent opening of the 2,150-meter runway represents a significant improvement in the airport's operational support capabilities. Air traffic control, meteorology, communication and navigation, security checks, and fire protection capabilities have been upgraded simultaneously, enabling safe takeoffs and landings of mainstream business jets such as Gulfstream and Bombardier, and expanding the airport's operational scope and service capabilities.
