JetBlue to offer free carry-on bags to basic economy passengers

Civil Aviation Resources Network, June 19, 2024: According to foreign media reports, starting from September 6, JetBlue will allow passengers who purchase Blue Basic (JetBlue Basic Economy Class) to carry one carry-on bag for free without paying extra fees.
Currently, JetBlue passengers need to purchase more expensive tickets if they carry carry-on baggage. Passengers who purchase Blue Basic flight tickets must check in their carry-on baggage and pay the check-in fee.
"Carry-on baggage is an important part of passenger travel, and we are always looking for ways to improve our service to meet customer preferences," said Marty St. George, president of JetBlue.
After the policy takes effect, all passengers on JetBlue Blue Basic flights can carry one carry-on bag and personal items that can be placed under the seat (such as backpacks, wallets or laptop bags), which are included in the fare.
