According to foreign media reports, on April 18 local time, a baggage handling system malfunctioned at Terminal 1 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia, causing a large number of passengers to be unable to collect their luggage for an extended period, resulting in considerable chaos.

The incident occurred in the evening of the 18th, affecting passengers on multiple flights. A passenger on Malaysia Airlines flight MH319 stated that the flight arrived at 4:15 PM, and he had been waiting for his luggage since 5 PM, but had still not received it three hours later.

◇Chaotic Scene

A large number of passengers who had not yet collected their luggage gathered at the scene, some having been waiting since 4 PM. It is estimated that at least five flights, affecting approximately 300 to 400 passengers, were affected, with the total number potentially exceeding 1,000. However, only a small amount of luggage was processed.

Affected passengers described the situation as chaotic and criticized the airport for failing to issue timely announcements or explanations, and for not providing sufficient support. It wasn't until around 8 PM that the airport began distributing bread and drinking water, leaving many passengers waiting hungry for an extended period.

It is understood that this is not the first time such a problem has occurred. Earlier this month, the airport also experienced a power outage that paralyzed its baggage system.
