Civil Aviation Resources Network, December 19, 2024: According to Reuters, Heathrow Airport in the UK announced on Wednesday that it plans to invest 2.3 billion pounds in airport upgrades over the next two years. This investment is 244 million pounds higher than previously estimated. According to the statement, the funds will be used to upgrade facilities in all terminals, including improving baggage delivery systems and related projects to support on-time take-off and landing of flights.
Specifically, the investment plan for 2024 is 1.1 billion pounds, while about 1.05 billion pounds will be invested in airport infrastructure construction in 2025. Thomas Walderby, CEO of Heathrow Airport, said: "This clearly shows that we will continue to invest more than 1 billion pounds of private sector funds in the airport every year to create first-class facilities required by airlines and passengers."
