On July 23, 2026, Civil Aviation Resource Network reported that Airbus Helicopters and THC Helicopters, a subsidiary of the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), a leading commercial helicopter operator in Saudi Arabia, jointly announced a firm order for eight additional Airbus H145 helicopters.

These helicopters are scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2028 and are a continuation of the historic framework agreement reached between the two companies at the 2024 Verticon airshow. Under this agreement, THC will purchase up to 120 helicopters of various models from Airbus over the next three to five years.

This additional order demonstrates THC's meticulous planning for fleet structure optimization and its forward-looking business growth strategy. By scheduling deliveries within a two-year window, THC can ensure a smooth transition of the new aircraft into daily operations. These Airbus H145 helicopters will fully support THC's expanding diversified businesses, including Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and other critical missions both within and outside Saudi Arabia.

THC CEO Captain Arnaud Martinez stated, "This additional purchase of Airbus H145 helicopters deepens the close partnership we have built with Airbus over the past six years. Building a highly efficient and agile modern fleet allows us to better anticipate and meet the evolving needs of our customers, supporting the next phase of our business development. These eight new aircraft will further enhance our operational capabilities, not only consolidating THC's leading position in its home market and the Middle East, but also strengthening our global influence in the aviation industry."

Airbus Helicopters CEO Matthieu… Louvot stated, "It is a great honor to deepen our cooperation with THC through this new order for eight Airbus H145 helicopters. This not only demonstrates THC's high level of trust in the Airbus multi-mission flight platform but also injects new momentum into Saudi Arabia's thriving aviation ecosystem. The H145 helicopter has already proven its outstanding performance in Saudi Arabia's extremely harsh 'high-temperature, high-altitude' environment. We are incredibly proud to see more and more H145 helicopters joining THC's operations, helping it build world-class services."

As a pioneer in Saudi Arabia's commercial helicopter services sector, THC has previously introduced Airbus H145 helicopters for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and deployed them for support work during the Dakar Rally. This order will further strengthen Saudi Arabia's aviation industry and enhance the accessibility of world-class helicopter services for both domestic and international customers, thereby continuously contributing to the achievement of Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" goals.

The Airbus H145 helicopter is designed to provide outstanding flight performance within its flight envelope and is the newest member of the Airbus twin-engine helicopter family. This model possesses excellent mission adaptability and operational flexibility, performing particularly well in extreme environments such as high-temperature, high-altitude conditions. Currently, over 1,800 helicopters in this series are in operation, accumulating over 8.6 million safe flight hours. Furthermore, its extremely low noise control makes it one of the quietest models in its class.
