Civil Aviation Resources Network, October 30, 2024: In the early morning of October 29, flight ZH807 flew from Shenzhen Airport to Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, marking the official opening of the Shenzhen = Qatar Doha international route. This is the 11th international and regional passenger route newly opened and restored by Shenzhen Airport this year. Doha has become the fifth passenger route point for Shenzhen Airport in West Asia.

It is understood that the civil aviation 2024 winter and spring flight season flight plan will be officially implemented on October 27. In addition to the Shenzhen = Doha route, Shenzhen Airport plans to open and increase the frequency of more than 20 domestic and international routes in the winter and spring season. The weekly planned flight volume (including passenger and cargo flights) will exceed 9,300 flights, including about 8,200 passenger flights and about 1,200 cargo flights. The average daily flight volume will exceed 1,300 flights. While better meeting the citizens' air travel needs, it also builds a smooth air transportation channel for the development of new foreign trade formats such as Shenzhen's characteristic industries going overseas and cross-border e-commerce.

Passenger and cargo connections with two major aviation hubs in the Gulf region

Shenzhen = Doha international passenger route is operated by Shenzhen Airlines using Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft. Three flights are planned per week. The outbound flight takes off from Shenzhen Airport at 01:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and arrives at Hamad International Airport at 06:00 local time; the return flight takes off at 19:15 local time and arrives in Shenzhen at 08:45 the next day Beijing time.

Doha is the capital of Qatar and the political, economic, cultural and transportation center. It is also a famous port on the coast of the Persian Gulf and an important passenger and cargo aviation hub in West Asia. With the opening of this route, Shenzhen Airport has achieved direct passenger and cargo flights with the two major aviation hubs in the Gulf region, Dubai and Doha. The passenger flights from Shenzhen to West Asia have increased to 14 flights per week, reaching five cities including Dubai, Doha, Tehran and Riyadh. The increasingly dense passenger and cargo route network provides more convenient conditions for economic and trade cooperation and personnel exchanges between Shenzhen and West Asian countries.

Over 20 new and increased routes are planned for the new season

It is understood that in the new season, Shenzhen Airport's international passenger business will be further restored, with more than 800 international and regional passenger flights planned per week. In November, Shenzhen Airport plans to open a new Shenzhen = Madrid, Spain international passenger route. In addition, Shenzhen Airport will further increase the frequency of flights to Penang, Hanoi and other routes.

In terms of domestic routes, Shenzhen Airport will add domestic flight points such as Langzhong and Handan, and increase the number of flights from Shenzhen to 23 cities including Shanghai Hongqiao, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Chengdu Shuangliu, Kunming, Zhengzhou, Harbin, Haikou, Shenyang, Jinan, Wuxi, Qingdao, Wuhan, and Ningbo.
