The Department of Consular Affairs will emphasize consultation with embassies and consulates in China on unified visa approval standards to ensure that visa approval is completed within 7 working days, unless additional materials are required. In addition, in the past period of time, the Consular Department has formulated a series of convenient visa approval policies, such as providing one-stop visa services for teams planning to shoot movies in Thailand.
All departments agree that the electronic visa system is standardized and can screen Chinese tourists from multiple dimensions. In the second phase, the system will improve efficiency and ensure safety. In addition, other languages including Chinese will be added to the system, and security information exchanges with the National Intelligence Service, the Drug Prevention and Suppression Commission and other public departments will be strengthened.
At present, the first phase of the electronic visa system is ready, and it can process 5 million visa applications per year. In the second phase, which will start in 2024, the system will be able to process visa applications from 15 million people.
