The demand for travel during the holidays is strong, and the number of passengers at regional airports has increased significantly.
The Ministry of Transport announced today (October 2) that on the fourth day of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, the country's railways, highways, waterways, and civil aviation are expected to send a total of 53.442 million passengers, an increase of 56.4% over the same period in 2022. Railway passenger flow continues to maintain a high level, and there is strong demand for short- and medium-distance passenger flow such as tourism and family visits. National railways are expected to carry 16.4 million passengers today.
In terms of civil aviation, 15,782 flights are expected to be guaranteed today. Since the holidays, some regional airports such as Baicheng in Jilin, Weihai in Shandong, Luoyang in Henan, and Liuzhou in Guangxi have seen significant increases in passenger volume compared with usual times. In order to cope with peak passenger flow, the airport has added security check channels and check-in counters to ensure smooth passage of passengers.

Today, the total traffic volume of highways nationwide is expected to be 59.3 million vehicles, an increase of 53.1% over the same period in 2022.
The national waterways are expected to carry 1.5 million passengers today, an increase of 114.23% compared with the same period in 2022.
