On September 9, multiple social media users reported that All Nippon Airways (ANA) flight NH967 from Tokyo Haneda to Shanghai Pudong experienced operational disruptions due to a water leak on the aircraft. Users stated that some passengers were stranded at the airport for an extended period, with some even resting on the floor. The delay of flight NH967 also caused a delay for the subsequent flight, NH968.

According to photos and written accounts posted by netizens, the aircraft involved was leaking water, preventing the flight from taking off as scheduled. Due to the prolonged delay at the airport, some passengers resorted to sleeping on the floor.

According to VariFlight, Flight NH967 was originally scheduled to depart from Tokyo Haneda for Shanghai Pudong at 22:30 local time on September 9; it actually took off at 11:06 local time on September 10 and arrived at Shanghai Pudong Airport at 12:23. The flight was delayed by nearly 13 hours.
Separately, passengers reported that Flight NH968 was delayed due to issues with the preceding flight, leaving travelers stranded at Pudong Airport; All Nippon Airways (ANA) provided them with a 300-yuan meal allowance and reimbursement for accommodation and transportation costs up to 750 yuan, while passengers stranded at Haneda Airport received compensation of 15,000 yen (approximately 656 yuan).
According to VariFlight, Flight NH968 was originally scheduled to depart from Shanghai Pudong for Tokyo Haneda at 01:50 on September 10, but actually took off at 15:09.
